I love watching those Sims 2 trailers .. I never saw them before buying the game. I did after. I didn't pay attention to trailers at that time. When I did see them though they were a hoot and still are now. They were not exactly as the game is by a long shot. Can't say I'd want to go back to trailers like that but mostly the trailers then and now... tell some sort of story with humor and life, be it through the announcer or the way they splice all the scenes together.
We have lots of options to go by prior to buying this game and packs. We can watch the live streams, or parts of them. We can engage in our favorite sims forums and listen to people that seem to line up with how we think or maybe even that have our play style. We can watch our favorite reviewer .. whoever that might be, or we can take that chance and purchase it with blinders on.. your choice would be yours to live with. If you go in questioning the product I'd think it might be a good idea to inform yourself before purchasing. Common sense to me anyway.
I like this game I'm pretty sure I wouldn't have to watch the trailer to know I'd enjoy the upcoming pack, because history tells me I've enjoyed it all so far and the packs that aren't my favorite still have things I enjoy, again because I already enjoy the game. The trailer however is entertaining and it let's me glimpse things: a possible story, clothing, hair, objects.. and whatever else they are teasing. It is not detailed because it's a trailer. It's like thinking if you watch the trailer to a movie that's all you need.. I've seen the movie and now I definitely know who should win the Oscar for it just by that viewing . Trailers are meant to advertise hype a product. Since I enjoy the hype it's fun to me personally.
Maybe they will listen and change their form of advertising completely.. who knows? Anything is possible.
