Do Fame Quirks Weigh Too Heavily When Determining Autonomous Actions?

So in Get Famous, Celebrities can develop quirks, some of which have low impact on a Sim's day to day activities, and some which completely alter the way a Sim acts on their own.

Does anyone feel that such quirks change a Sim's autonomous actions TOO drastically?

Just to name a few of the bigger offenders:

Paparazzi Darling- This causes your Sims to become Confident when posing for Paparazzi, and additionally causes more Paparazzi to show up when on public lots, as well as having them appear more often on your home lot.
Now, this can be easily ignored for the most part. There are no negative moodlets to not indulging in the Paparazzi. But!
If left to their own devices, a Sim with this Quirk will beeline for the Paparazzi whenever they have a free moment.

Vain Street- This causes your Sims to become tense if it's been a few hours since they Admired their Fine Self in the mirror. Though they get a +2 Confident Moodlet if they indulge their quirk. But!
If left to their own devices, a Sim with this Quirk will beeline for any available mirror whenever they have a free moment. Even if they don't have the Tense moodlet. Weirdly, they sometimes don't even get the Confident Moodlet from autonomous Fine-Self-Admiring.

Phone Fanatic- This causes your Sims to become tense if it's been a few hours since they've used one of their Cellphone's Entertainment functions. Playing Games on a Cell Phone and, after a recent-ish patch, Taking a Selfie will relieve them of this moodlet. But!
If left to their own devices, a Sim with this Quirk will often be found playing games on their phone, even if there are far better things nearby that will fulfill their Fun need. Additionally, having this quirk will, for now at least, forever curse your Sim with having an extra idle animation where they just tap on their phone, even if they remove this Quirk with a Quirk-B-Gone Potion. This isn't linked to an interaction, and doesn't fill needs, it's just an animation that wastes time and can even happen in the middle of other interactions, like telling jokes at a Mic or chatting.

I feel that these Quirks heavily hamper a Sim's ability to do things Autonomously because they're just weighted so heavily when the Sim decides what they should be doing at any given moment, and that they could use some tuning.

How does everyone else feel about the effect of Quirks on a Sim's actions and habits?

  • I think Phone Fanatic does its "job" the best out of the three. It's a negative consequence implemented in a logical way, and it makes sense. It basically just makes your sim take a bit longer to do everything. It doesn't send the sims running around, and it interrupts their actions but doesn't (often) cancel them.

That is of course ignoring the bug where it doesn't get removed properly.. that bug basically ruined one of my sims and I had to reload a version of her from before she became a celebrity.

The other two I haven't really experienced (I've had sims with them, but since I play with autonomy off they essentially have no effect), but they sound immensely bothersome and I don't think there's so much advantage to playing a celebrity that warrants such a consequence.
  • Phone Fanatic could use some more things that relieve it, in my opinion.
I mean, one would think that updating your social media status, or adding to your Simstagram story, or just checking your timeline would alleviate the Tense moodlet.

If it doesn't then yeah I agree. Since the question was about autonomy I based my judgements off of that rather than the moodlets

Speaking of moodlets, it'd also be nice if they only did the time-wasting animations only if they were currently suffering from the Separation Anxiety tense moodlet from it.

Though ignoring the annoying mid-interaction phone tapping, Paparazzi Darling feels like the potential worst, just going from my list of three.
Especially if you have a big house.
Nothing like being on the third floor and having to walk all the way down to the front of your lot where the Paparazzi hang out because your Sim wants to pose for pictures for them. Or during the extreme hot/cold.
Or during the day if you're a Vampire.

To pick at the quirk-based moodlets, I wish they affected the autonomy more.
Like a Paparazzi Darling will only rush out the door to pose for Paparazzi on their own if they don't already have the Confident moodlet for having posed recently already.
Or that a Vain Street Sim will only admire their self if they're tense from not doing so for a while.
And, same for what I said with Phone Fanatic's Separation Anxiety earlier.

But anyways, these are just three that I've picked because of my experience with them.
I'm sure other quirks affect autonomy in their own ways.
    Well, maybe not Refined Palate.
But don't think I'm only interested in the effects of these three quirks on Sim autonomy, I'd like to hear about the others too.
