Do I have to download the Legacy edition?

You only need it if you have a 32 bit system. They aren't supporting them anymore.

Thanks so much, I nearly made a big mistake, thank goodness I cancelled it :D

If you accidentally downloaded it, you can set back to 64 bit very easily. It works the same way it did before between 32/64 bit through the game options in Origin.

As for the unnecessary download, I'm not sure at this point if it can just be deleted like other DLC. Safe way would be to uninstall the whole of Sims 4 and reinstall.

Thanks for info @crinrict :) I stopped then cancelled the download. It did que up, saying it needs to finish installing, but I removed that, so think all is good. Its not in my library but I will keep an eye on it everytime I download a new pack, that it does not que up again ;) Happy simming :)
