Since I'm the only one that said overall better in the thread please refer to the "I think" part of that statement. It's an opinion. Just as yours is.
You think, but I think it is not, far from it. The essence for me lies in ‘is’ better. That is not the same thing as liking it better. I love Sims 3 but you’ll never hear me say I think Sims 3
is the better game. I prefer playing it to both Sims 2 and 4, but that doesn’t mean I think it
is the best Sims game. It just suits me best, that’s all. ‘I think’ isn’t some sort of magic word that turns something into a opinion that can’t be questioned. And since it completely touches what the OP wants to bring up (four years in and compared to the predecessors Sims 4 is still lacking in too many ways), it’s completely legit to question the statement “I think Sims 4 is ‘overall’ better than the past games’. Must be the potential again but potential doesn’t make a game good, let alone better. You may not care how long it takes for the game to achieve the same status of finally being fleshed out and ‘as complete as possible’, I think it’s had its chances.
