When used as an argument why it’s defensible to drag this game on for years to come (“yes it takes much longer than before but that’s ok because it’s the best game yet”), it is inevitable to adress it. To quote the OP: “What some consider has been a short time for TS4, I consider has been long enough, and if four years is a short time then look at TS2 and what all it had in just four short years.” I agree with that and I agree with you: this so called quality difference shouldn’t be used as an argument here, because that’s opinion, not fact.
