Do you build your own house or do you download from gallery?

I always would build my own houses and never had once download from the gallery.

I can't build or decorate so I usually either download something from the gallery or ask someone online to build something for me. In terms of (re)decorating, my boyfriend has taken that task upon him. ?

I can build and usually build my own lots, but I also like to download lots, to look at them up close. Sometimes I just like how they are decorated, sometimes I check how they are built. I rarely keep them in my game though, because most are built for looks and not for gameplay. I have a diner in my game that I downloaded and I regularly use and to which I made small changes.

I sometimes download but usually build my own, though I very often start my builds with the Maxis shell houses and go from there. Partly because that way I know it will fit the area they are located in, but also because it helps with things like roof-structures that I really hate to build. When not building from shell houses, I build from real blueprints of houses as I have no architectural skills but love the design elements more.

I do love building parks though. Those I often build from scratch.

I build my own. I lost a lot of my builds, sims, and perfect plants when my pc broke. When I get my new pc, I'm going to have to try to catch up on all my games including the sims. I don't trust any kind of cloud saves so on all my games I have to start over.

I do both. I use to build often but over the last couple years I don't play as much as I use to, so I search the gallery till I find what I'm looking for. If I can't find what I'm looking for or it doesn't meet my need then I'll build.

I routinely have this idea that I'm going to go through and do a gut refurb on every house in the game, making the decor fit the personalities of the sims and fixing the massive empty rooms that EA builds tend to have. I never do it. Unless I'm building a house for fun or to see if I can do it, the furnishings for non-played sims tend to be functional at best. I want them to have furniture in case my sims visit them, and hopefully I'll remember to put down a mailbox so that it doesn't spawn in the middle of the living room, but other than that? Whatever.

As I've mentioned, I build my own unless it's from Maxis & I've helped build a few for my Daughter's Sims 4. :p
So, I was thinking if any simmer who doesn't like to actually build from scratch for their sims homes or venues, I have alot of variety of builds that I've made & upgraded that I've saved in the Gallery if any simmer wants to download it in their Library & put in one of their worlds. I know I won't be able to know anymore if any simmer has downloaded any of my sims or builds in the Gallery because that portion was removed. However, if any simmer likes my simple builds or my unusual sims please let me know on this forum. Oh, & if you decide to redecorate it & share that in the Gallery, please make sure to credit me as the original builder.

PS: I only play Vanilla & alot of my packs.

I build my own and renovate the EA lots mostly. I do on occasion DL from the gallery if I am looking for something specific or I feel I do not like my build version as much. It does inspire me to try again later though :)

I'm not really a good builder :D. For my "normal" Geameplays I therefore download furnished houses from the gallery. (I LOVE THE GALLERY! <3)
For my Stone Age - Save I build my own hoses. But I only started doing that recently, when I needed to re-design some lots to my liking. Then I realized how much fun it is, and now I'm playing in my own Stone Age & I'm loving it! :)
