I don't use clutter at all in my game. I don't even decorate the outside of my sims houses with bushes and trees. My sims houses are usually very bare bones. I like all the items in their house to be practical. If they can't use it, they don't need it. Getting houses off the gallery with too much clutter can be frustrating. On one hand they look nice but on the other its hard to move around and get to anything. I usually remove more than half of it before playing.
