I like looking at the builds with a lot of clutter because it does really give the homes a more realistic and lived in feel, and some simmers are very good at decorating. But I rarely download them because the clutter adds so much to the cost of the building and with a lot of them there will be routing issues.
When I bother to decorate, I appreciate having a lot of options that can make the spaces more personal to the sim or family. So I don't think we have too much, even if I never use some of it. But mostly I'm not a builder and only bother to decorate occasionally so I can't say it has a huge impact on my game.
