Do you give other sim households careers? Should I?

I just rebuilt a brand new save file, pulling sims and buiildings and making new ones - filling eeeeeevery lot into a new save file - and I'm FINALLY done after nearly a month. Thing is now I'm sitti...

I only bother giving specific jobs to Sims that I know will someday become a fixture in my save game.
