This was asked once on the official forums and since we have some new friends with us I thought it would be fun to ask this here. Do you have something specific you do to get ready for a session of gameplay? It could be some specific snacks? A lucky pair of pajamas? Any little thing you do that's connected to your gameplay sessions. I love to have a scented candle going to help me relax and get into my story as I play or write. I'll brew some coffee for a morning session or tea for an afternoon or evening gameplay session. I put on headphones to block out the neighbors and lose myself in my sims world. I grab a small bowl of snacks like pita chips.What are some of your Sims rituals?

Something to drink near by too. Sometimes , tho very rarely, juice too, haha. I play with headphones , are those on my head or not depends on mood, sometimes I don't mind that I don't hear all the sounds. I very rarely wear anything uncomfy, but often find myself simming in PJ's , especially at night time. ps. autocorrect is trying to insist I am not Simming, but SWimming instead 😛

Rituals? I’m a man of rituals. Clad in Wolf fur Cloak ( don’t worry, wearing your ancestors is considered an honorable thing to do in my sky-and seafaring clan) I’d first draw a magic circle around my Captain’s Davenport in order to keep the Evil Sneazles out. I’d want to entertain myself in peace of course. Not in pieces. Directly to my left stands a large pillar candle. Directly to my right stands an even larger, cast-iron goblet which contains The Water of Life, plus a small, bowl filled to the brim with plumbob shaped kibbles. I’d light the candle, have two sips of the good water, pop 3 kibbles in me mouth, stamp me feet 7 times to shush hush the terribly loud party plankton that tend to swarm around me ship. I then wind my pocket watch ONCE at the Greenest Hour, because that of course, is the time I’d begin. I‘d take another swig of the good stuff, crack my knuckles (or paws depending on which mood I’m in), pinch my nose to make sure I’m not dreaming, inhale, roar and power up The Life Device.And this dear folks, THIS is when it all starts to get interesting…

I just try to make sure I'm not likely to be interrupted, and I prefer to wear comfy clothes if I know it's going to be a longish session. Plus, I always have water or something to drink nearby...very occasionally, a "juice" drink. 😉

@rosemow The scented candles are really good when I sit down to write my Sims stories.😁 @LiELF In the past I have had a couple of 'juiced' Simmimg sessions😇 Like you I want to make sure nothing is going to interrupt me.😁 @Ellupelluellu Depends on the time of year, but usually tees and shorts or a light sweater/sweatshirt and leggings. Comfy PJs are an absolute must for late night gameplay sessions. My autocorrect always says I'm simmering. Wait a minute...that sorta works if look at it sideways while squinting.😛

I put my Sims on around 2pm each day. My housework must be done first. I make a macchiato or a cappuccino or an iced coffee if it's a hot day (coffee is very important) and get my water bottle too. I have my armchair all set up with my back support lol and things like that for my bad back and my whicker ottoman to put my feet up. Then it's Xbox on!Occasionally my cat will perch on the back of my chair to nap, roll off it while he's asleep and land on my shoulder 😿. If he's napping upstairs he'll stomp down occasionally and yowl for munchies.If I'm building I might have my tablet streaming a comic book movie in the background. But lately I have a boring obsession with inquiries into things and I stream those too, to listen to them while I'm building.I usually go into the zone but around 3.45pm the school bus beeps outside for the junior Sims player next door arriving home and I realise the time. Then I'll make a grande decaff fat free double lungo in a "Friends" size mug. See, coffee is very important and my coffee order is very specific! ☕

@simgirl1010 That's your ritual, not ruining your laptop.😁 I've interrupted a dozen simming sessions and ruined three keyboards spilling coffee and tea on my keyboard over the years.🤣

I also get concerned that I will spill a drink on my laptop if I have a drink nearby! @simgirl1010 🙂

Blankets are on bed ready to pull over me if get cold and pillows on bed are in the correct space to lean back on
Phone in reach in case someone texts or calls
Drink and snack is withing arm reach in case need a drink and something to eat
Cat is no longer laying on my laptop
Checked to see if mods are up to date and copy of tray file and save file are in the correct place if an up date has happened and my game was updated

It is great the way you prepare for doing simming @ZazzyKittyn 🙂 Your cat must like your laptop! He would keep you company whilst you are simming. Having a phone nearby is good so that you can quickly respond if someone wants to contact you.
