Do you have Sims inspired by fictional characters or celebrities? 🕺 For example characters from movies, books, series...
I'm a big fan of the Discworld Series by Terry Pratchett and my favourite character, Gytha 'Nanny' Ogg made it in my Sims 3 and Sims 4 game. She even gave me my last name ^^' Though, in Sims I play her as her younger version. And of course, there also is Greebo.
Quote from the Discworld Wiki:
'He is a foul-tempered one-eyed grey tomcat whose human, Nanny Ogg, insists against all the evidence that he is a sweet, harmless kitten.'
She is a witch in the books and also ingame, so I let her relive her school days at a magical school along with her friends 🪄
My Detroit sims have become my passion. It all started with a single sim based in a character from the game Detroit: Become Human. But then I thought it would be fun if I gave him a handful of his enemies... and his estranged family... and replace the random police co-workers with cops from the game... Now I have close to seventy sims from that game, some of which don't even have names in the original.
Here is the core cast from the end of last year:
Left to right Chris & Susan Miller with their son Damian, Connor RK800 with his mentor/father figure Lt. Hank Anderson, and the inseparable terrible trio Tina, Daniel and Gavin. Daniel (with the blue hat) is the original sim I started with - I showed him and Tina before in different threads.
Now the interesting thing is that I no longer consider my adoptees someone else's characters. They have long become my own. Case in point, I have six Star Wars sims in my game now, and with them I'm very aware that I'm playing with someone else's characters. Not so with the Detroit sims, they register as mine.
Since I mentioned the Star Wars sims, here's a pic of Rey, Finn and Hux cooking together. (Admittedly it's Rey cooking with the others shirking the work or giving unhelpful advice)
I enjoy playing my franchise sims' downtime, the small things that movies or games cannot make room for. Group cooking. Dancing. Roasting marshmellows. They also go on adventures, of course, but then in between those the little daily things humanize them to an astonishing degree.
Not sure if I could play with sims based on real life people, whether historical or celebrity. Every time I consider it, it feels wrong.
It is great that you have created sims from the Detroit Becoming Human game @EnkiSchmidt 🙂 I don’t know the game but it is great that you started with one character that you created and now have 70 that you play that are from the game. It is a lovely group picture that you have posted of the core cast.
The sim versions of Rey, Finn and Hux from Star Wars are great! It would be enjoyable for you seeing the characters living their daily sims lives in your game, and how their lives and days develop.
I made a Sim modeled on Morgan Wade, a singer-songwriter-future rock star I've been obsessed with the last two years. I've also made Sims who were my attempt to capture characters I knew from video games like GTA: my Sims 3 legacy started from a character named "Sage", who was based on the radio announcer for Radio X in San Andreas. From the gallery, I've saved loads: I have the entire cast of Strange New Worlds, for instance, and Red Dead Redemption 2: I have various actors I like (Anna Kendricks and Natalie Portman, for instance), and the casts of shows like How I Met Your Mother or The Office. In The Sims 2 I'd found sims who looked like Jake Gyllanhall and Barack Obama (the latter was impressive for TS2's tools), and as far back as TS1 I remember having 'skins' for Mariah Carey and Britney Spears. Some of these sims are just for decor, but some are good dating stock for my Sims -- especially Christopher Pike and Sadie Adler. My Sims 4 and Stardew Valley characters tend to have a mirror of each other in the other game.
I'd like to try capturing Lina and Savi from Neo Cab next.
Not often no, but when making sims for Del Sol Valley for my current decades save (the Whittaker Saga) I have used some inspiration from the movie stars of the time. Cora Chester is (very) loosely inspired by Greta Garbo, Gilbert Johnson was inspired by John Gilbert and Harold Locksmith was inspired by Harold Lockwood. I might add more now that the movies are moving into the talking era.
Your simversions of the movie stars are great! @JesLet40 🙂 You have reflected them well! Cora is a lovely lady and Gilbert and Harold are very handsome.
@rosemowthats the dragonfly kitchen, i didnt wanna spam this is my first pic in the new forum, i had it attached, and i changed it to insert. So im discovering sharing photos will be more easy here now, just dont wanna over do it. Its my fav cause i got the Diner, Lorelai's house i think its worth a cpl more pix on that ! The sims, i had the four girls from Chilton plus Lorelai's parents but her mom got annoying, just like in the series she was showing up everywhere like more than Nancy would.. she kinda took Lilly Fengs role and i was tired of seeing her in festivals. I did Jersey shore also with good sims that even act like their characters too sometime, 2 broke girls also were good. It gave me a whole new inspiration that helped me fill up my game ! #GilmoreGirls sims and builds are in my gallery.
It is lovely seeing the pictures of their home @Le_Slacker 🙂 The kitchen, study desk nook and living room areas are great! The exterior design of the home, blue colour and front porch reflect the tv home well.
Upvoted you for Nanny Ogg 😃 (Do you have the cookbook? It's quite good!)
I don't think I have screenshots anymore from my old save, but back in 2015, when some things about rotational gameplay were broken for a while, I decided to start a new save that would be just fluff, so I wouldn't care if rotational gameplay was kind of broken.
The entire save was fictional characters and celebrities, plus a few premades and my simself (the only time I've played with her since she died in a horrendous accident in 2000). It was superfun. I grabbed some of the Sims from the Gallery and made a lot of others myself. Some of those are probably still on the Gallery if anyone wants them! The most fun in that was when Amber from the Sims 4 promos moved in with Elvis and they had lots of parties features the slippy slide from the Backyard pack. Also I had Aliens based on David Bowie and Tilda Swinton, who ended up in my rotational save later :D I'm sometimes tempted to revive that save. I definitely have copies of it saves.
