I have tried to build my own house and myself as a character. Not my entire family necessarily. Though I have tried to make prince Harry once (and failed terribly)

Is... that a challenge? lol. I mean, creating Harry. - Missie_Kate2 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
@Midevil_Chaos This is such a late reply. Lol. Apologies, I was quite busy this weekend. There's never enough time in a day for my liking.
The oboe?! Lol, I've heard they're one of the most complicated instruments to learn, and one of the most expensive too. so I've never encountered anyone yet with a handy oboe to have a go on ๐. So I have no idea how they sound without experience. But when I was in middle school, the majority of my class had clarinet lessons. My gosh did it sound bad, you could hear the lesson for miles around I'm sure! ๐คฃ 20-30 kids without any experience of any musical instrument, with basically loud flutes is not something I'd like to hear again! Lol.
As for YouTube, I watch quite a bit. I enjoy quite varying content, no specific genre. A bit like my taste in music, if I like it, I like it usually. But as for making my own content, maybe one day. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so would want to make sure everything was just how I wanted it if I ever started. (Wow, I sound like a control freak big time ๐) My neurotic ways for real!
As for the emojis, they're Microsoft emojis. Click on the right side of the mouse, then in the drop down menu the first option should be the emoji selection bar. Hope I explained it well enough. โ (โหโหโ) โ

You're good! ๐ My mom moved into a residence with a pharmacy, nurses etc. It's actually an apartment complex for older individuals. She's literally 5 minutes away, walking distance from where I lived. She used to live in a city that was maybe 20 minutes away by car. So I was helping with that. If anything, I do appreciate your words though, as they are very thoughtful. ๐ค
Yeah, the oboe! I've no idea how it sounds either lol. I don't play any instruments myself, but I wish I could play the piano. Maybe one day I'll try. For now though, I'd rather not think about music class from my childhood. We had to take music in elementary school and I hated it so much - I actually hated my school - high school was much better. I'm just grateful I didn't have to take it in more than once. How was music class for you? Did you enjoy it? I think I personally didn't because I didn't like my school back then. But it sounds like you're saying that your ears were bleeding from those other people playing clarinet. I used to play the plastic flute. I was terrible at it, everyone was as well I think LOL. I just hope I wasn't one of those people that made your ears bleed. ๐
"[A]s for making my own content, maybe one day. I'm a bit of a perfectionist, so would want to make sure everything was just how I wanted it if I ever started." OMG, I am the EXACT same way. What you're saying makes perfect sense. When I write books, I actually re-read my PDFs like 5 times. Granted, it takes a hell of a long time... but I need/want them to be perfect before publishing them lol. I swear, when I re-read something later down the road once published, I cringe LOL. I'm always like, "man, this could be better" all. the. time. So, it's not just you.
Oh my God... it was that simple? Thank you lol. ๐คฃ - Missie_Kate2 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
You're Welcome! ๐
Moving is extremely difficult whether it's yourself, or helping someone close to you. But sometimes it's needed. I hope your mom is happy and healthy in her new home, and hopefully settles in quickly.๐
We had move last year because the landlord was selling up. Difficult is seriously not the word when it comes to moving. Especially if your not a millionaire, the prices of removal companies are ridiculous, so my mom and I moved the majority ourselves. Honestly you really can't be moved fully (everything in your house) for under 4 grand, or at least that was the majority of prices I saw. And the PRICES of cardboard boxes! seriously, I could complain for months about this, In fact I have done if I'm being real. ๐คฃ (I do realise though that being a removal worker is a hard manual job, so they do deserve to be paid well so I'm not angry about them.)
I completely understand what you mean about reading everything over before you finalise it. I do the exact same thing, even with books, I just have to double check (and in most occasions more than that.)To make sure I read it right! I always thought it's a type of OCD with me, but I'm beginning to think it's normal. I know how annoying it is to have that problem so I completely empathise. I also get how you can cringe at your old work. Who doesn't right?! Most people feel it when they hear themselves back on a video (I know I do๐ ) .
And I didn't mind music lessons at all, as long as the lesson wasn't math I was okay with it. Can't say school was something I enjoyed though, do many children enjoy school though? It's very difficult, I don't know many people who weren't bullied at school in some form, because kids can be really cruel.
And yes, I also played the clarinet badly, I found it hilarious at the time (and still do๐) how bad we all made it sound, now I feel bad for the poor teacher who had to hear it! ๐คฃ

She actually called me a bit ago. She says she's happy where she lives now. She used to live an apartment complex for war veterans, but non-vets could apply to live there if no vet applied to live there. Which is what she did at the time, but that place wasn't very practical. Her new place is better.
Jeez. 4 grand? When I moved several years ago, it cost us under a grand to move. Also, here you can rent plastic boxes from a company that all they do is rent those boxes out. Someone comes and gives you them, and then once you're done, they take them back. It was something like $150-200 for that service if I recall correctly. How much did you pay for your boxes? The advantage of plastic boxes is that you don't have to dispose of them, and someone does the job of removing them from your place.
I think the worst thing is hearing your own voice... *shudders at the thought of hearing my own voice*. There is nothing more horrifying than hearing yourself speak. Everyone else thinks you sound fine, but you know they're lying. How could they not be? ๐คฃ And then when they tell you that you don't sound that bad when playing an instrument when you know you're terrible, oh! You know they're double-lying at that point! ๐

@Midevil_Chaos Glad your mom is happy in her new home. ๐
We just used old amazon boxes, and plastic cases. I was just browsing one day and stumbled upon a devoted cardboard box website (never thought I'd type that๐). I wasn't going to bother with anything not reusable, but was browsing to see what sort of prices moving companies charge. And I accidently found a website a little bit like U-Haul, but all about selling boxes and similar items. The prices were ridiculous IMO, 350 for 10 boxes! I think I didn't spend long on the website though. Lol.
All I learnt is there really is a website for everything. I even found a website for beekeepers with articles such as: "How to move over 50 bee boxes for professionals ๐". I only searched for reusable boxes. Lol. 10/10 content though! I love a good bumble bee. โฟ๐ I've never really liked the taste of honey though. Let the bees enjoy their honey, they hard work for it. I was almost going to put a little pun in there about donna summer's song 'she works hard the money' but thought it was way too cringe. ๐ ๐คฃ

Thanks! ๐Wait, what? You kept a number of amazon boxes so you could use them one day to move? ๐ฎ Dedication right there! I wish I had that type of storage to be able to keep several dozen of those lol. That being said, yeah, that much for 10 boxes is a joke LOL. We actually have a company here that will literally pack up your stuff for you (which actually did that for our mom since you know...), and that cost 3 grand. So we definitely would not have spend money on boxes even if we could. It's ridiculous to think that someone would think it's a good idea. I dunno know, rich people don't care I guess.
How... are they even in business? ๐คจ lol. I've never in my entire life seen a beehive, and typically people would not move a beehive. Too much can go wrong. ๐ And I agree, I'm not a fan of honey either. Unless I'm sick, then I may mix honey and tea, or honey and peanut butter (toasts). I'm not grossed out by foods in general or anything, but I usually don't like things that are either too sweet or too salty. It's like when you buy chips, traditional chips are VERY salty, which is why I tend to buy less salted chips. As for food that may have sugar like muffins etc., I do NOT accept food like that from coworkers. I did twice, and found myself disgusted, while everyone else thought they were amazing. Never again.
And you made me think of Lisa in her 80s dancing garb while she was dancing to 80s music. I think? lol. It's been decades since I saw that episode. - @Midevil_Chaos Iโm not that good at recreating actual people. The red hair was a match, but thatโs about it lol
