MY GOODNESS!! THAT WAS AMAZING! HOW DID YOU WRITE A FULL BLOWN STORY SO FAST! ๐ฎ๐ You weren't kidding when you said you can write! I'm very impressed. I honestly didn't expect that when I said to go for it! ๐ Selene and Hornack finally have the canon they deserve, and Hornack will not just be seen as a comedy figure that grows randomly, but a sweet little *pun intended* Dwarf with feelings. ๐คฃ
BTW, you're spot on about Ciri! I thought the exact same thing! I put it down to child Ciri not being in the game much. But I thought she looked like a Dwarf too LOL. In the books she's described as being tall, around 5'9 I think, she also has elven roots, and they're always described being a tall race in the books, although Yennefer is a quarter elf and in the books is described as being petite, so it seems there isn't a rule. ๐ I think CDPR worked hard on Ciri's adult character design though, and it shows compared to child Ciri's design for sure. ๐
I read your reply before I walked my dog around an hour ago and all of my walk I had They're Taking The Hobbits To Isengard! stuck in my head LOL. I get what you mean with meme songs being strangely catchy ๐ I know way too many, Like the Wii shop song mixed with September, Earth, Wii & Fire - YouTube And All Star mixed with the Mii Music, Wii Theme but its All Star - YouTube And way too many more, Like I said my brain only absorbs knowledge that's unhelpful in a important situation like for example "Ugh, I need help adding this up, any chance you're good at math?" My brain: X-Files birb meme - YouTube "I'll get a calculator" ๐
Also, I didn't think I was that far into DAI, I think I'm maybe 6-7 hours into the game, so maybe that is long but hasn't felt it! ๐ I'm am surprised how far you are in TW3 too! You must've met Keira then, she's the one I was referring too when I said about a certain sorceress being one of my favorites, GAVELLA GLAN is so iconic! ๐ You must've let the spirit out of the tree then! I didn't on my first playthrough as I didn't trust her. I also didn't want her to possess a poor innocent horsey! ๐ I always choose not to let her out because she can't promise she'll actually rescue the children, plus, I actually didn't mind the baron. He isn't all bad IMO. letting the spirit out or not it was one of the hardest choices in the game for me. Also, how did you choose The Witcher 2 questions in Vizima? just out of nosiness. ๐โ
EDIT: You must've had trouble posting that reply as EA want to suppress Dwarf kind. ๐คฃ I keep thinking of other people reading this thread wondering how it got so off topic to become full on Dwarf lore. ๐คฃ๐

@Mrs_K_Desormeaux
I wished I could have written sooner, but I was indisposed earlier. I guess I shall you see your response later.Thank you, I appreciate that. ๐ Nope, definitely not kidding lol. ๐ I've been writing for my than 2 decades, which has been my craft ever since. Although to be fair, my brain is also wired differently than most people. What I wrote wasn't planned at all, it was simply me writing without having to think about it much. Looking at the 2 lines I had written before in the other post, I just added to it. It's hard to explain, but if you are interested I can always tell you a lot more about that (just not in the forum itself lol, as it's personal stuff, but I wouldn't mind sharing with you... if you're interested). I think you would be intrigued.
If anything, your compliment made me smile.
Indeed good miss! He shall grow to be more lol, except in physical stature obviously. A Dwarf can always dream though.
OMG!!! Really, you too? I thought I'd be the only one to think that about Ciri. ๐๐๐ I do like her adult character, and her skills are "baller" as the kids would say. I think they say that. ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ If anything, I am so out of touch with the younger generations when it comes to slang words and all that stuff. Once, I think I was around 18 or so, and some younger teen came to me (in the street) and asked me something. I had no idea what he was saying, and when he saw I didn't understand what he was saying, he spoke plainly so I could understand. ๐
You are right, they ARE taking the Hobbits to Isengard. At least, you're safe. You're a whopping 5"4, not 3"6 like them "Hobbitses". But not tall enough to be seen by their patrol. You have the perfect height. ๐ At this point, I need to ask, what is the dog's race? Can I get 3 guesses? I would have to guess either a Terrier, a Cavoodle or the common safe pick: a Chihuahua. If I guessed wrong, my apologies lol.
That was smart with the Earth,
WindWii and Fire song. I didn't know that one existed, it was well made if anything! As for Smash Mouth, I love their song All Star. And you got my fav show on there? (X-Files) - you're tugging at some serious nostalgic heart strings right there. In The Witcher 3, this is what would happen:Guard: "Halt! Who goes there, and what business do you have in Novigrad?"
Katie: "Just selling mushrooms I got from the side of the road. Well, truth be told I actually didn't like these ones, so I actually got them from a few kilometres from there. Then, I met Geralt and I swooned over him, such a handsome wolf".
Guard: "What?"
Me: "I get what she means. Maybe not the part about Geralt because you know, I myself prefer Triss."
Though my character did like her too as you did (Keira), though pretty much proposed to Triss before she was about to depart on a ship. I don't know, I think my character is in a weird love triangle because I've never played the game before (or the other 2 before), and I'm just trying to get to know all of them. ๐๐๐ I'm usually not like that in other games. He even kissed Yennefer, but that was all the AI. I never suggested he do that. I was like, "dude... I'm supposed to control you, not your impulses!"
If anything, so far I like Triss the best. There is both an honesty and independence about her, which I like. I swear, the red hair has nothing to do with it. ๐คฃ
I am ashamed to ask... but what does Gavella Glan mean again? ๐
You are correct, I let the spirit out of the tree. Maybe we met different villains ๐คฃ. Please tell me you saw those 3 horrible witches. ๐๐๐ I saw them and what they were planning to do, and I was like, "ima, not side with them... they look so freaking evil!"
About the children being rescued (or not), here is a spoiler:
SpoilerShe does rescue themOh, as for the questions, I legit looked online who were the people he was referring to. If I liked their backstory more (and/or) preferred their name, I would choose them over whoever else. Or if it was about killing/helping etc. someone, I would go with whether I liked the description of that person (including their name).
Indeed! I had tried like 5-6 times before it posted! EA indeed does not like Dwarves in love with Humans.

I do have a Simself, but I mostly create other people. I'm a writer (with a day job) and creating characters is fun!
My first Sim was an adorable pet-loving lesbian author. (I do write and love pets, but I am not Amanda.) I made her a girlfriend in IT, a gamer girl.
My second Sims were a gay couple, a pair of artsy loners. One was a painter and the other was a writer. Of course they also had a kitty.
My third Sims were an Oceans Eight inspired Sim named Debbie that I gave the Master of Mischief aspiration and made her a hacker (because even though there was a heist pack in a survey, there is currently no way to do heists in game.) Her gamer wife quit to become a gardener when I realized how much money that made LOL.
I started doing families then, and initially they were supposed to be the family for my Sim that I didn't play so I just grabbed a bunch of random Sims, but I fell in love with them. My Super Sim, I created her Mom and then used genetics to create a toddler to be my Super Sim.
I've also played Leverage and What We Do in the Shadows (the vampire pack is really very versatile for playing different kinds of vamps, I gave Colin deprive needs and the one that makes people pass out and perfect sun resistance, sadly he does need to drink plasma packs)... But mostly I just make random Sims.

Don't worry about that! I'm annoyingly always late in general, so if I reply later than expected, it's sadly just a problem of mine! ๐
You're very erudite and obviously talented at writing! Honestly, I just think it's a natural talent, people either have that skill or don't. I've noticed that good writers always have an amazing skill of how to put things across, and that isn't a skill you can just have naturally. I know I don't as I always have to elaborate for hours to explain what I originally meant by something. ๐ ๐
Baller! Yes indeed! ๐ It made me laugh thinking of that scenario a younger kid being like "yo yo yo" and some such, and you just staring blankly like "wat?" ยฏ\_(ใ)_/ยฏ I must admit I have had I similar experiences, for example, when I was in high school talking to my friend about something, I can't remember what now, but it was more of an older topic, and she was just staring like ".........." ๐ ๐ I've always acted like a stereotypical grandma so that's probably it. Lol, I instantly thought of this expression ๐

My dog is a Labrador ๐ but I think you were almost there with the Cavoodle guess! ๐
That scenario is really accurate! ๐ I would always want to be a mushroom selling sorceress every time! What's not to like? ๐คฃ I would 100% not be a inconspicuous Mage I'd be like "HeLLo I cAn Do MaGiC, k" even during witch hunts, as I wouldn't be able to get over how cool that was. ๐ ๐ A bit like Keira, which is probably why I like her character so much. ๐
How did I know you'd go for Triss! ๐ My Geralt always romances Yennefer because of canon, Not many people who read the books, or who romance Yennefer like Triss, but I actually really like Triss, personally. I felt her story of unrequited love for Geralt was pretty sad, she was jealous of Yennefer and Geralt's relationship in the books, but learns to overcome her obsessive love for Geralt and easily led nature, and becomes a strong person. There's a lot more but I won't go on explaining some parts as I would go rambling on for too long ๐
Oh and Gavella Glan is just a spell that Keira uses veerrry often in the wondering in the dark quest so it stuck with a lot of Witcher players, including me. ๐๐

@Midevil_Chaos Second Part Of Reply ๐ โ

My choices were: Iorveth's path, but Roche's path is great too, saved Aryan, saved Sรญle, and rescued Triss, and let Letho go. ๐
I know she rescues the children now, but on my first playthrough I was suspicious. ๐ I'm still sus about that tree spirit though, as much as I am about the Crones! ๐คฃ Seen as in one book in game called "She Who Knows" It's suggested that she is their Mother/Creator so I didn't trust any of them, plus my thinking was that she was quite violent in the way she dealt with the villagers so I thought she'd be maybe too dangerous if let out of the tree. But that choice is still very tricky, for sure!
In the Hearts of Stone Expansion there's another amazing redhead too! Thankfully it seems CDPR likes to represent the redhead community! ๐

๐๐๐ That's ok. We all have our quirks.
Thank you. ๐ I do appreciate that. Part of it is how to actually use emotions that don't exist in the conventional sense. I'd rather not go in details here in the forum lol, but as I said earlier, I can always let you know personally. I can't speak for other writers, but I'm sure they have their own thing though when it comes to writing.
๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ Grandma Katie, with her Labrador. You know what the crazy part is? I was looking at a picture of a Labrador and I thought, I would assume Katie has one, but... those dogs are big generally. Since you're 5"4 I thought maybe that type of dog might be too powerful, as bigger dogs are harder to physically control on walks. This isn't a jab at your height at all, btw. Petite women are awesome, imo anyhow. At least you don't have a Great Dane, as even I would have issues with a Great Dane lol. Mind you, I have seen very muscular men with Chihuahuas. That baffles me, as no one likes Chihuahuas. They bite and scream their heads off. ๐
That being said, I've very straight laced when it comes to conversations. And I can't believe I just used the expression "straight laced". Hi, I'm Archie Andrews! ๐
Would you talk that way using the caps and no caps in the same sentence? I'm sure a guard would be like, "wtf is this? What is she on about?" Then, he would probably accuse you of witchcraft. ๐ But, thank God you'd have Geralt though. He likes witches. At least mine does.
You knew I would ask, why did you think I would prefer Triss? There has to be a reason. Please share! ๐
And don't worry, Triss' love is NOT unrequited in my case. My Geralt actually told her he loved her. She stayed. Technically left, but to Kaer Morhen so she could be safe until his return. Unless he dies. Though I assume he will live. No spoilers! ๐คฃ [coming back to this part 10 minutes later] I just realized there are only men there at Kaer Morhen. Why would she go there? She'll scare them away, as they've probably never seen a woman before. That's funny actually. Like the nerds in the comic book store in The Big Bang Theory when Penny comes in.
From what I gather, you've read at least several books? Did you read all of them? If so, did you play the games because of the books? Or the other way around?
That was epic, the Bart Simpson meme. Say the line Bart! Say it! "I didn't do it!" Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay! Yeah, I can imagine how well this meme is using Keira's spell for a tag line XD
Yes she does! But somehow you decide it wasn't good enough, and sided with the 3 witches. ๐๐๐ I am disappointed in that action, Katie. Naw, I'm just messing with you. I made far worse decisions looooool. And how can we not when you have countless decisions to make.
Alright, let's look at the situation logically: You have 3 psychopaths who want to eat/drink Geralt and Ciri. Then, you have some spirit in the forest. The villagers may die, but at least you don't have people cutting their ears off anymore there, but you also have the Baron's wife dying. Yeah, no good outcome at all in either case. ๐ - Missie_Kate2 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
Exactly! ๐ Although my dog does happen to be a Labrador she's on the short side I'd say, just like me ๐ I wouldn't be put off of a large dog anyway as they're usually big sweet things, sometimes the little ones are the worst! ๐ They look small, cute, and unaggressive but underneath all that is an aggressive big dog hiding inside. A lot like Chihuahuas, as you said. ๐ Rottweilers could never mess with a Chihuahua on a bad day. ๐ All the Great Danes I've ever seen have been placid sweethearts, compared to fiery Chihuahua's ๐คฃ
Nothing wrong with saying straight laced, I say worse expressions. But as I said, I do act like a stereotypical Grandma. ๐
I don't think I would talk in a mix of caps and no caps ๐ it was supposed to be an expression of true incompetence as a mage, as I would be. ๐ ๐คฃ I'd be just walking around jamming to bardcore and doing spells whenever I felt like it, I'd just go to a tavern to introduce the locals to bardcore classics like, Aqua - Barbie Girl [Medieval Style Cover] - YouTube. And make the realm's national anthem this Thomas the Tank Engine Theme Tune | Medieval Folk / Bardcore - YouTube. Me being such a scheming Witch. ๐
The reason I knew is because she has red hair! ๐ I think a lot of players where swayed by that, Lol. And the fact you meet her first, plus, she's in the two previous games so players that just played the games but haven't read the books felt more connected to her. ๐ I actually had a really tough time choosing between Yennefer and Triss when I knew nothing about them but their game demeanors. I think Triss's character bio is so accurate when it says she's charming and warm, because she is. Yennefer on the other hand is not the easiest to work out at first. Plus some other characters you might notice aren't keen on her, that's because she never shows her real self to anybody but Geralt and Ciri. Other than with them she has a bit of a barrier up.
Yennefer is actually insecure but puts up a bravado. But with Triss she's bubbly and extroverted, unlike Yennefer. Which is why you'll see the some characters like Triss more than they do Yennefer, other than Ciri of course, as she sees Yennefer as her Mother. Ciri also likes Triss though, but sees her more as a Sister.
Geralt loses his memory in TW1 and doesn't remember anything. So when Triss finds him he only knows what she tells him, which she doesn't tell him anything about Yennefer and Ciri existing until TW2. When she finally tells him about Ciri but doesn't tell the entire truth about Yennefer and their relationship. She makes out it was a toxic relationship, when in truth it wasn't. She just knew if she told him everything he'd leave her and try to find Yennefer And Ciri (Which he inevitably does). In the end she develops more confidence (just like in the books.) and chooses to tell him the full truth when helping him recover his memory with a rose that can be used with magic to recover memories. So I think overall she's actually great, but is very human with feelings, so she makes "mistakes" which I personally think is understandable, not that some of Team Yennefer do. ๐
And I played TW3 before I read anything, or saw anything from the other games, I went into TW3 knowing absolutely nothing, which I think is the best way IMO! Simply because I liked finding out as I went along, sometimes I was confused at some references, but just googled it. ๐
In DAI I found it really funny how my Inquisitor completely ignores her mans advice every time! ๐ Cullen's like "Hey, you know the templars are cool, you should think about siding with them." and my Inquisitor is like "Naw Maggeess, K." I just downloaded some mods to give my elven girly some nice new outfits too, people will start thinking closing the rift is her last priority. ๐ ๐

Woahh, that was a bit of a ramble wasn't it! ๐ ๐
- Midevil_Chaos2 years agoSeasoned Veteran
Yes! Small dogs are the worst. God, Chihuahua are so bad. My cousins for reasons I'll never understand have those dogs. One of them is in the army... and it's so bizarre seeing him with a Chihuahua. Like dude, why? The Chihuahua is imo truly the only un-cute small dog there is.
Oh man, I didn't realize the Thomas the Train remix was gonna be badass. ๐๐๐ As for the Barbie Girl remix, I'd listen to that in the Medieval Period. How could I not, with a name like mine? Though my name has 2 meanings really. It helps to understand linguistics.
I'd back you up. I'd have both the brains and brawns to do so against those pesky jerks like in TW3 who just attack people for no good reason. ๐
I dunno about that. Straight laced seems... I dunno, boring? ๐คฃ
I don't mind that she's a redhead, but that's not why I like her lol. I like her because she's just awesome. Opposites attract, I guess?
It's not to say that Geralt (or myself for that matter) is cold and distant. Geralt can be cold and distant, I'll grant you that, which is probably why he likes having a warm and fuzzy woman. As for Yenner, she's ok. But... she's more of a schemer. That's my job lol. And don't get me wrong, in terms of beauty and coldness, she's amazing when it comes to that. And her dresses and such, yeah, great fashion in comparison to Geralt. Oh!!! Speaking of which, I found this nice armour thus far called the "Redanian Halberdier's Armor". It's wicked looking, and I got a haircut.
Back to Yennefer, she does seem like the type who uses her beauty and charm to get her way, which is why I don't like her as much as Triss. Again, that's my job lol. In these games, I'll always max out my charm and whatnot, for obvious reasons.
I gathered he had amnesia, has he is quickly reminded of that in the game lol. Feel bad for him now, since he told Triss he loved her. But hey, what can I say? Geralt is a hopeless romantic somehow involved in a love triangle. Nothing strange about that... *facepalm*.
To be fair, I do think the relationship (from what I've seen of Yennefer) is to a certain degree toxic. I can deal with petty jealousy from Triss, but Yennefer's behaviour? Come on!
Cullen is just eye candy I guess(?) We know what type of men you like. ๐คฃ
Yes! Playing Medieval Barbie is fun in games. A lot of people do it... including masculine men. ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ Who says you shouldn't look good when slaying monsters?
Bah! No worries, I prefer rambling as you call it as opposed to silence. ๐
- Missie_Kate2 years agoSeasoned Hotshot
Masculine man with a chihuahua. They must be the only kind of people that can handle them angry Chihuahuas it seems. ๐
Yes indeed! Thomas The Tank Engine is the kind of badass song you need in your realm to frighten all the other possible invaders. ๐
She is great! CDPR originally weren't going to have Triss as a romanceable option in TW3, but it seems they also have a soft spot for her, as they decided to go ahead and give the player a choice with that. I think you're right there about Triss and Geralt being opposites, Triss is a extrovert and Geralt is a introvert so they compliment each other well.
But I will say that Triss is probably more of a schemer than Yennefer. TBH most sorceresses that Geralt knows are quite scheming, seen as most that he knows are members of the lodge of sorceresses (Which Yennefer never was truly apart of.) Triss does come across as a sweetie (which she is for the most part.) but definitely hides a lot from Geralt to attempt to manipulate him. She also helps scheme with the Lodge Of Sorceresses to get Ciri to be their power piece, but that was because she wasn't confident enough to say no to the other powerful members of the Lodge. In fact in one part of the books she lets herself get extremely ill (which sorceresses are immune to illnesses through the use of magic.) all just to try to get Geralt to look after her so he'd be closer to her as she's basically obsessed with him. ๐ He does indeed look after her, because he undoubtedly cares about her. But he doesn't let her get too close as his main priority is looking after a young Ciri at that point, but she disregards that in her attempt to make him love her like she loves him (Sapkowski was damn too much with that.) ๐ In the end she cries and admits she wants to be in Yennefer's position. I felt bad for her, I know many of Team Yennefer don't agree but I actually like Triss.
It's seriously one of the biggest debates in TW3, if you see some debates on forums or comment sections when Team Yen and Team Triss collide it is seriously crazy af! Some people can't just get over the way others play a game with choices when it's an integral part of the game! Like seriously, can't you just enjoy the game and can share your own opinions without getting so salty and serious about other people's choices? I have read some where people literally spew pure hate for one another just because they prefer one waifu more than another, jeeezz. ๐
Plus, I seriously think CDPR do the Triss romance the best, I actually think it's the cutest one IMO. Even though I choose Yennefer. ๐
Cullen being a medieval Barbie is IT. ๐ Can't deny that, but don't worry, my inquisitor is definitely going for the TANK that is Blackwall next time! I actually like his banter with the others very much, and I agree with him the majority of the time. I have to say the most difficult thing about DA:I is picking who to take with you on quests. I want to take all of them! ๐๐
For sure! ๐คฃ I'm really glad my girly is looking all glamourous for fighting dragons and everything in between. Lol ๐
EDIT: I actually said to my friend I'd do the Dwarf playthrough with Iron Bull and Dorian next, but I think I have to do at least one more normal playthrough before I do that. ๐ Not sure if I'll ever actually be able to bring myself to do it really. Lol! But if I do I'll call my Inquisitor Hornack in homage to the man (Sorry Hornack.) ๐คฃ๐คฃ๐คฃ
