Do you place laundry machines in your homes?

I usually only put laundry machines in because I get tired of the whim popping up all the time...which still annoys me, because if they have a washer, they'll still roll up whims for a wash tub. Now when I make laundry rooms, I have three or four hampers so I only have to have my sims wash clothes every few days instead. Admittedly, I only have a few sims in the few households I play, but I'm not looking forward to when my sim families start getting bigger.
