Do you play as your Simself?

I had a sims self in sims 1, not 2 or 3. When I started sims 4, you had to make a sim to begin playing so I tried to make a sims self, but it doesn’t look much like me except for gender, eye, hair snd skin color. I was excited to get in and look at the worlds so I didn’t spend too much time in CAS. When I began playing her I decided she was going to be my collector sim. I don’t play her realistically, more of a what if scenario. I play a very large rotation though because I love having a variety of sims to play.
