- how is it even possible to play when you can't hear things!?
Also I don't watch TV ever and I never run the internet at the same time as I play cause I don't wanna kill my laptop. - OEII1001New Spectator

Very simple -- I can hear the game. The number of audio queues for Sims games in particular is very small. I'm not playing a multiplayer shooter, a fighting game or a raid in an MMO where I need to listen for said queues as they come in rapid succession. The Sims games are a slow, more meditative experience, and one that meshes nicely with listening to NPR or Critical Role. - Usually I have the sound off, only because my boyfriend plays his games so loud that there’s no point!
Otherwise, I’ll have the volume low and probably also be listening to music or a podcast, or tv in the background. - WyrrenNew SpectatorI turn the sims music off and play my own. (BTS! BTS!) Also sometimes I try to watch tv shows while playing, but end up missing half of whats happening.
- I play with volume sometimes, but I usually play without volume and don’t listen to anything else.
- The soundscape in Sims 4 is fabulous, even to the point of different shoes making different sounds on different surfaces. I'd miss that if I was listening to someone else. The sound is great for immersion.
- Volume on and earphones. Especially love the sound of rain and thunderstorms.
- I tend to go between only listening to my game, and having the volume low while listening to music, maybe a podcast. I really love the sounds of the game though. Except for when babies cry. I zoom like, all the way out as fast as possible so I can take care of it while also not hearing it ?
- BusufuSeasoned HotshotLol, if I decide to play the Sims, I want to concentrate on the game only. Why should I look / hear / do something else? For me unimaginable.

Thankfully, we live in a world with all different types of people . Who like different things. I don't like just listening to the game by itself. Not enough to keep my attention, but my audio stories and true crime podcasts keep me engaged and having fun while playing the game.
Right. That wasn't meant to be offensive.
Different strokes for different folks.
