I find the sound design in the game to be absolutely superb, and I love listening to the game. It's a part of the experience for me, and I can't imagine turning the sound off and denying myself that extra layer. It really brings the world to life. I love just sitting back and listening, a lot of the times.
I really can't sing enough praise for the sound design. From the music, to the leveling of skills like instruments and singing, to the sound effects of literally everything big and small.
I generally turn the loading screen and build-buy music off, but I can't imagine not listening to the game. I love the toddler voices, and even the little noises babies make. And some things, like a broken object, are brought to the player's attention with a specific sound. There are also some wonderful atmospheric sounds - birds chirping and so forth. The thunder is rather spectacular.
I don't like background noise, anyway - I never have music or the television on unless I'm actively listening to the music or watching.- I normally watch a show or listen to music. I keep the sims sound low but on so I can intervene if a fire breaks out or something else goes on. I’m almost always doing 2 things at once.
- Volume off and most times Im streaming my fav twitch streamer HollieBB, if not switch then im watching various sims 4 youtubers
- I keep the volume on because I like a lot of the ambient sounds on some lots - especially lots on the island in Windenburg where many of my Sims live. Almost every house gets windchimes too.
- What can I say? I like the game's music and sounds. It helps by being immersed in the game. If I want to listen to music I do that separately.
- MDianaSimsSeasoned HotshotI always have sound on in live mode. But I almost always have music muted in build/CAS and then listen to music of my own choosing. Only exception is when we have a new EP or GP then I usually have the game music on for a couple of days to hear the new tracks.
- Karamazov123Seasoned HotshotIt's hard for me to concentrate on Sims and shows at the same time, so I only listen to music during the multitude of loading screens.
- For me, the sound and music in the game is half the experience, so I keep it on always. The only times I ever turn the music off is when a glitch that makes the load screen score keep playing non stop occurs. xD Hasn't happened in a good while, thankfully.
- ValiantRedKnightNew SpectatorSometimes I watch YouTube playlists while I play because I have a short attention span.
- This was the closest answer for me but not quite the same. I turn the volume off but I don't listen to anything else either, I just play in silence
