I've been doing a lot of screenshots lately so that means using headlineeffects on/off which is really annoying to type in with a controller on console. So I've noticed that I'm keeping it turned off ...

When you mouse over an object or sim, the details that come up, when your sim is working on a skill, the progress bar shows, when a sim is your active sim, the plumbob is floating over his/her head, when your active sim is in a group, the group plumbob shows over all of their heads, those are all examples of headline effects. You can turn them off with headlineeffects off from the cheat prompt.
