Do you play with Pets?
I never really see anyone playing with pets or talking about playing with pets so I was wondering, how many people actually play with pets in their households. Do you use pets?

I don't like the way pets were portrayed int the sims 3 and that really put me off pets altogether, I also don't hear good things about pets in the sims 4. got enough trouble controlling the sims themselves to have to run after run away dogs and or cats. Which is really a shame because I love animals irl and have 3 cats, a visiting squirrel 2 magpie families coming for leftovers every morning and a lodger hedgehog that hibernated in the garage.
I did buy "my first pet" for my sim two daughters but I have never used it yet! I did not know that you had to buy pets for it to work so I am not sure it will be any good.
Hi @Omaira , you don't control pets in The Sims 4 — they're completely unplayable. I thought you'd like to know that.

We knew our cats and dogs in The Sims 4 Cats & Dogs needed to be responsive, observant, and obsessed with the Sims. Their owners. Their companions. We also knew we wanted them to be surprising, to act in unexpected and delightful ways, and to be living creatures. We were guided by the idea that cats and dogs would be like Sims for your Sims.
This brings us back to control. There are many factors at play here, some technical, some design, but in a nutshell, if players could see and control every aspect of their cat or dog, it made it difficult for us to make them do surprising, fun, and unexpected things. When we compared all the options, we knew that our game would be the most fun if we didn’t let players select cats and dogs, but instead gave you other ways to interact with them. When we made this decision, it fundamentally opened up things we could do with cats and dogs that we can’t do with Sims even!
