- yes. I don't understand how it's even possible to play without.
- Sometimes I play with sound on and headphones on. It does seem a bit more immersive. But other times, I feel like listening to music or a podcast so then I'll mute the game.
- DeKaythePUNK7 years agoLegendI turn on all the music and sounds and I make sure my sims blast the radio out loud. I'm just a very musical type of person. I can't breathe if I'm not listening to music. ?
- Reddestiny9217 years agoLegendI like to listen to the sim radio so I have to have sound on.
- GamingTweety7 years agoSeasoned AceI can't imagine the sims without sound. I love it.
- Karababy527 years agoLegendI LOVE all the ambient sounds in the game, even the different kind of footsteps Sims have depending on the type of terrain/flooring. I've turned off emotion stings though and turned the game intro music waaay down. Unfortunately this doesn't effect the LOUD music that plays when a lot loads. I dislike that so much, it's annoying.
I usually turn the sound off when in build/buy mode too because after listening to it play the same song repetitively, that gets annoying too. I wish we could pick and choose which songs play in build/buy mode, I love the songs that came with the Vampire GP. I usually have the sound off in CAS as well for the same reasons and only turn it on to pick a voice for my Sims.
Sometimes I'll turn it off when a Sim is painting or doing a few other skills because of the repetitive predictable sounds my Sims make while doing it. I think I have what they say memorized by now. lol I will turn the sound off when Sims are at the beginning of learning to play the violin, guitar and piano too. The violin especially is grating on my nerves. Having said that, I LOVE the music they play on instruments once they've skilled up though and will often just sit and listen to them play. Some of them are so beautiful and fun.
I've noticed that, just like the lot loading music automatically turned way up obnoxiously, the same thing happens at Planet Honeypop when Sims are singing karaoke there. Why? I like listening to some of them sing, they're really good, but it's too loud. Especially when a Sim doesn't have any skill. o.O I turn the sound off when that happens. ;)
Happy Simming! <3 - I like the music and sim voices.
- Sound on the majority of the time except for when I don't want anyone knowing I'm playing the game when i should be doing something else. :)
- Kita53997 years agoSeasoned AceI play with an earbud in only one ear, that way I can hear the game and my daughter if she needs me.
- I love hearing some of the ambient sounds and funny simlish words. For example, I really like listening to what the sims are saying while they're acting, especially if it's a romance scene. A sim with a higher acting skill sounds very theatrical and over-the-top, whereas a sim with a lower skill sounds SO uncomfortable. Sim with higher skill: "Oh, romanza!" ... Sim with lower skill: "Ah, noo-BOO..." :joy:
Oh, and I have to add in how much I like hearing their reactions when they smell something stinky. "Ewww...disgroble!" :mask:
Also, I've grown really fond of the simlish songs on the radio, especially if I know the English lyrics. I'll sometimes skip through the songs just to find one I like to play in the background while my sims cook, do their homework, skill-build, etc.
