Yes. I've never played it any other way since I started with The Sims in 2000. I can't imagine not playing the game with sound on. I put my own music on some of the radio stations in the game and that's enough for me. I really enjoy the sounds in the game.

Yes. But not when in build mode.

It depends on what I'm doing. I play with sounds and music on if I'm playing in Live mode. I turn off the music and listen to my own music or pod casts when I'm just building.

We can all agree that Sims is best played with sound and music, but for me it depends on which time of the day I'm playing. At daytime I play it silent, since I'm not alone, but in the evening, when I'm the last person awake, I put on my headphones and play it with sound, as it should be.

I don't think you'll ever get a large, varied group of people "all agree" on anything. Especially on the Internet. ;)

I think it's a personal preference thing, though I can totally understand why most people like at least some sound in the game. I can't imagine I ever will miss the music, though. Sorry. ^_^;;

sometimes, it all depends, but hardly ever. when i play sims i usually have something else playing on my laptop like music, livestreams, or netflix.

Of course, it's how I know there was a lot of spooky wind in TS2 when you placed that dead tree on a lot. Ambience. In TS4 it had problems with an HDMI connection and I couldn't hear the 'nature' sounds at all. I complained about that but it was never fixed. I could hear ocean etc. but not bugs or crickets and things like that. Very disappointing. My husband plays any game he likes with no sound. I wouldn't be able to do that unless it was really annoying music etc. lol
