I just read a thread and someone mentioned how hard it was to play the without sounds on and I got to wondering if I'm the minority.I almost always (as in 95% of the time) have the sound off when I'm in the game. Well, the sounds aren't "off" per se, but I don't have my headset on and I keep those plugged in 24/7 for work. So if I don't have my headset on, I don't hear the game. And if I have my headset on, I also can't hear what's going on outside my room and therefore would probably miss the RL toddler getting into something she should NOT be getting into! (Like pulling my decorations down off a shelf over the sofa, which was this weeks obsession with her!)

Personally, I prefer to have the sound on whenever I'm playing. I think maybe because it's more immersive that way, never really thought about it. My husband always has the sound off, though; he likes to listen to music/podcasts/videos while he's playing. ?

When I'm actually playing my sims i require soundsusually therefore my sims have stereo on 24/7 as background soundtrack even if they're not about to use it anytime soon :lol: just for me to listen to some jamsbut sound off when building or doing cas (minus picking sims voices)cause i have bluetooth headphones and don't wanna waste battery cause i will literally sit there for hours pondering which of the 3 chairs should i use or somethingwhen building or cas i usually hear just like mom watching tv or whatever

Always, I don't enjoy games when I can't hear them.

Been playing since sims 4 released and only like 2 months ago started playing with sound. It’s amazing how much sound is actually in the game! The thunderstorms sound soothing. I mostly have the tv on or watching videos on my iPad when I play so that’s why I had music and sound off

Sounds are important. My Sims gaming style is not to control my Sims too much and I need to hear what's happening, especially with multiple Sims households.
Also I'd get bored to play without sounds, they're a big part of the gaming experience with Sims and also other games too.
I like to hear my Sims, it makes them feel more alive. I can't even think of playing without hearing the toddlers adorable babbling. :)

I play in live mode with sounds on, but sometimes I mute if I’m going to be spending a lot of time in CAS or build.

I sometimes mute the sound when I'm in CAS because the music can be intrusive, but otherwise I always keep the sound on.

My poor PC has been mute for the past 4 years now. I can't afford to get the auto repaired. However, everything else still works.

I selected depends because I like to play in windowed mode with Youtube or Twitch on my second monitor. The music and the UI sound is off in the game and the game has a pretty low volume. My save have pretty long loading times so it's nice to be able to switch to another monitor.

Depends for me due to living in an apartment with paper thin walls. Unlike my neighbors I am considerate about keeping the noise down at night and during the evenings too. I use headphones to keep my noise down and more importantly block out the neighbors. Since I can only be patched into one source it's usually the tv. During the day I have the headsets off and the volume up on the computer so I play with sound on then.

If I am spending a while in CAS or build/buy I have the sound off and listen to music/a podcast, but while in Live mode I like the sound on.

I always play with sound on, but it's hard to find an acceptable balance between sounds near and far from the camera, so most times I don't actually hear the ambient sounds.
