Depends for me due to living in an apartment with paper thin walls. Unlike my neighbors I am considerate about keeping the noise down at night and during the evenings too. I use headphones to keep my noise down and more importantly block out the neighbors. Since I can only be patched into one source it's usually the tv. During the day I have the headsets off and the volume up on the computer so I play with sound on then.
