I do push mine pretty hard, and sometimes I feel guilty, but apparently not so guilty that I don't do it again...
It is hardest for my child/teen sims. I like them to have good grades, get all of their scout badges, be in positive range for at least three of their character values when they're soon to age up into a young adult, and have at least a couple of skills ready, too.
I tell myself that it's worth it for them, but I think it's also handy for them to sleep, eat and be social. I think I may have to practice on working around their needs a little more.
