Do you put “rules” on yourself?

I usually play a challenge so since this isn't counting that my normal play would have rules but my rotational play that I do besides the challenge doesn't with the exception of some families doing some don't. Like I play 20 + different families in my rotational play. I wanted it to seem realistic so I created some is being really rich Ellis start and son is being really poor. My poor Sims who are struggling I wouldn't cheat their money but the rich ones I do. If I want to seem to have an easy life I will cheat their needs, if I want them to have a hard life I wont. It's all about keeping it realistic to the storylines I'm creating and having a diverse community of Lifestyle types.
