Do You Tell Your Parents...

I usually share what happens in my game with anyone who will listen lol.

Yep, I usually tell my mum when something interesting happens or ask her opinion on things like which wallpaper or hair colour to go with if I can't decide on something lol

I meeean... They know there's a lot of drama happening in my game. They also know that I'm posting it on the forums. They know that people are actually reading it and are lowkey proud of that although they'd prefer if I actually wrote books instead. But overall no, they have no idea of what's going on :tongue:

Yep. My Mum's a simmer too, so we swap stories all the time. <3 My brother plays occasionally and I haven't spoken to my Dad for over 4 years.

@wylmite1986 My mom is going to be 75 next year. I don't talk to her about the games I play. The less she knows about what happens in my life the better I have always believed. I talk to her to see if she is ok and if she needs anything done around her home. My dad, on the other hand, I do talk to occasionally about games I play because he is a gamer himself. He's the one who got me hooked on the first Sims game and I have been a fan of the franchise since.

However, my niece who is the closest I have to a "mini-me" and I always talk about games we are playing, cons, anime, music, k-dramas, j-dramas etc or whoever she is dating at the time and more. It's good to be the "crazy auntie". If anything we are constantly sharing good games to play or dramas to watch because our personalities are very much alike.

I was telling my husband about things that happened in my game last week and he said (jokingly), "You know they're not real people, right?" While I do know that, I thought it was bizarre that my sim had just been abducted by aliens for the 3rd time and I just needed to tell someone.

My husband rarely plays, but when he does, tells me all about what's going on and asks questions. lol.

All the time :) She helps me with storyline ideas and gives input on building/furnishing. Whenever I build a house I always show it to her and she gets so excited and oohs and aahs. She has mom goggles a little bit, I think. My mom is my best friend, other than my fiance. He's supportive of sims and gets involved to an extent, but he's not as interested as my mom. Which I understand because I'm not into his more stereotypically "masculine" games. I hate gendering games but that's kinda what it boils down to for us at least. I like very girly, colorful games with no violence and he likes games where he can kill things haha. But other than that he's the biggest sweetheart ever.

But yeah, my mom has always been my biggest support for my sims addiction. She would buy me the games when I was a kid, no questions asked because she knew how happy they made me. I am very grateful to her. :)

I'm an older Gen-X'er, so ... not really. We talk more about their grandkid (my daughter), what the cousins are up to, how everyone is holding up, etc. I'm not hiding my Simming, it's just not relevant to our conversations.
