Do You Tell Your Parents...

My mum hates gaming and thinks it's a waste of time and my dad wouldn't care much but would be very uninterested. They know I play on ocassion, but have no idea how often or how much I've spent (and I'll keep it that way haha! As an almost 40 year old who doesn't live at home I feel no need to tell them hahaha! The only reason they know I play at all is cuz my toddler told on me LOL!

No, but I tell my husband and kids ;) My husband is good at looking at me like I'm a bit "off". He has lots of practice at it. Generally, though, we all share our gameplay with each other.

As far as I'm concerned, getting lost in the Sims 4 has a far more positive influence on your mental health than being lost in reality.

No, I was an adult in my 30's when we bought TS1 for my daughter's 13th birthday and my Dad had been gone for almost 30 years by then. Never talked about it with my Mother either who has been gone a few years now. However, Hubby and our three children all played TS1, but they quit after TS2 came out. Life got busier for the kids as they grew and Hubby was more interested in playing other games on the PS.

I obviously still play, and talk to Hubby now and then about what's going on in my game, more so now that he's layed off and we've been quarantined for weeks together. He even commented about Simlish, wondering why they didn't speak English when I was playing a few days ago. I tried to explain it to him, but he didn't get it. lol *shrugs*

Our children are all grown now and have kids of their own, but they know I still play and have gifted me many packs over the years for birthdays & holidays. Hubby too! I don't think they really understand why I love it so much, but they have said it doesn't matter because it makes me happy and that's all that matters. <3

Nope as no-one in my family understands why I still like playing computer games. Even people at work find it amusing at times so I don’t discuss it with them. I only have one friend who is a huge sims fan who I talk to about it but not that often as we are usually busy catching up on other stuff.

My mom no. My siblings know im a sim fan and are supportive. My partner found it funny at first that I still play a game that Ive played since 12, (he cycles through his games in a flash) but ever since I started writing sim stories, he became my biggest simming cheerleader. He'll ask me when is the next sims story is up and gets flustered if I tease him with spoilers. Got mopey when i accidentally spoiled it once. ?

No, both of my parents died some time ago. I do drag my husband into it sometimes. He listens patiently but looks at me like I'm nuts.

I don't have parents. I tell nobody about my game except you lucky people! :smiley:

I do, but I have to wait for seances on either of the solstices, when the veil of aetherius is thin. It may be difficult to give them an update on my sims this year due to less reliable supply lines of eye-of-newt due to the Covid-19 outbreak. My fallback plan is carrier pigeon.

I tell my husband, and he often looks at me funny. :D I told him about my recent story of a sim couple breaking up because one of them flirted with Servo, and he laughed pretty hard.

He has a creative eye though. He helped me design the home for my spellcaster. I'm rubbish at building, so he looks at my builds and gives me ideas :smiley:

Back in the day when Sims 1 came out my parents didn't know what it was. I think I was about 15 when it came out and I played it a lot. They didn't really care to be honest.

It's great to get lost in the Sims. Its great escapism, especially at this time. :smile:
