I don't see any speculation about this but I've been wondering for a while. Ts4 is 7 years old and showing it, sadly. While I love the game, the lag is killing me. So... thoughts? Are we expecting TS5 to be announced?

They are probably still in the prototyping stage, so that would be too early... They might announce something though because they moved the release of Cottage living so it's released before EA Play, which hints that maybe they wanted it to be released so it would not get in the way of whatever they would announce during EA Play. They also have an offer where you will get three additional items if you buy Cottage Living before September 2nd. September 2nd is the sims4's 7 year anniversary.So maybe they will announce something.

Doubt it. Maybe next year but if anything, I think we'd be getting more TS4 announcements.

I doubt it, but their recent behaviour has been weird, right? Even if they announced 5, it being years out wouldn't overshadow Cottage Living that much. That is what makes me suspect something related to 4.Watch it be a DLC subscription service like Paradox has been rolling out.

I’m beginning to wonder if it’ll be announced late next year. ??♂️As Cottage Living is getting a lot of positive feedback I would be surprised at them announcing anything major on its release. Plus there’s still more packs to come.

I think the only bonus content they released before for TS4 was at launch. I find it weird that they are releasing bonus content now, after so many years. I'm thinking they want to make sure the Cottage Living EP sells enough copies before the next pack is announced and it may be that the next pack is themed something very often requested by players.

Isn't that sort of weird, to show a launch trailer for a pack that has been hyped up for the past 6 weeks? I would think that most simmers would already know about the pack. Maybe they're trying to attract non-simmers who might be watching EA Play Live.

It could also be vice versa. For a company like EA, having simmers tune in for the whole show until The Sims Segment could expose many simmers (potential buyers) to their other franchises like Need for Speed, Battlefield, FIFA, or any other franchise EA had. This is a business opportunity to them and also bringing in The Sims will of course can bring new players from other EA franchise. Who knows that a teenage player who plays Apex Legends might saw Cows in The Sims and will be wanting to buy it?

They only showed a short Launch Trailer for Cottage Living and it was not even during EA Play Live with the host (Xavier Woods) but before it.

The sims was reduced to a pre-show segment.

If they (EA) have stated that they have plans to release more content for Sims 4, then announcing Sims 5 would be one sure way to get people to slam their wallets shut. Why would you pay for something that's going to be superceded in XX months?

Now we talk about them lasting ten years, 15 years, or more.

Well dang, if they would last that long (of course EA will milk every ounce of Sims 4) then I will keep playing Sims 3 and Paralives until TS5 come out. I stopped getting packs for Sims 4 in 2019 and haven't touched the game since then... the only way I can consider is if they introduce the open world back to the game but their engine can't handle it so.

Nope. I don't think there's going to be a Sims 5 for a while, they've pretty much said that there's a lot more to come on Sims 4. I think the year of COVID set everything back too so push the possibility out a little farther as well.

I want real babies in the sims 4, romance/wedding stuff, a new wedding outfit category, hotels, casino stuff, schools, a new costume category, cars, more active jobs like get to work’s, theme parks, bands, medieval stuff, more challenges, like one for clothing like they have for food. I’d like them to bring out a variety of eye lashes, nail paint, more eye colors, in fact give me a color wheel for eyes, hair, clothes, and build items, some interesting careers with nice career rewards I also want them to fix game breaking bugs like plants reverting to dirt.
