By no means do I want to suggest my idea of 'detailed' is better than anyone else's by the way. Simmers do value different things. I'm not the one claiming 'my' game is the best because it happens to serve my personal preferences the best. So yeah, options certainly would be ideal and it's great the developers did listen to some complaints about short cuts. Like being able to bathe my toddlers if I want to now and I noticed my sim picking up his phone like this the other day:

For me that doesn't influence the quality of the game. I honestly don't care whether he picks it up like that or goes *swoosh* (like when they're collecting gems). I think my brain just fills in things like that automatically and I don't have to literally see it to be immersed? I don't know. Like others don't need to see their sims driving through a world and I do. For some details mean immersion, for me it soon is too repetitive and time consuming I guess. Like having to take care of the weeds. That really sounded funny and realistic when I heard about it, but it became old pretty fast for me.
