Do you think The Sims 4 = Failure?

Reading all these comments I am now royally bummed I missed out on the Sims 2 freebie of a year or so back, I never played Sims of any type before being introduced to Sims Free Play (iPad) by sheer curiosity. I then rapidly moved into Sims 3 where I set up camp 11 months ago and have been happily playing since. I did get the 48 hour Sims 4 freebie on Origin but deleted it after 2 hours, it was throughly boring to me and my son he is 13 and not a big simmer but even he thought it was boresville. Now I fully admit 2 hours is not at all time to even crack what makes 4 tick and I will most likely give it a fair go in a few years but I realllllly want to get my hands on Sims 2 at some point and see what the deal is, everyone seems to love it.
