I think the possibility of Sims 5 being released and Sims 4 still getting packs at the same time is highly unlikely. The PC games require way more resources to produce than mobile. I can't see them trying to maintain both at the same time; they'd definitely want to move resources from one to the other.
The more likely scenario is that Grant is trying to squash the rumors that TS4 will end soon because it's not ending. There is no TS5 being worked on (yet) but only time will tell.
By the way, I just want to be clear that none of my statements are 'wishful thinking' because Sims 3 is still my go-to game. I couldn't care less if TS5 is announced tomorrow. (Although I'd be reluctant to buy if TS4 was abandoned in this state.) I only try to be reasonable with what I've seen or heard.
