Nothing wrong with playing however is the most fun to the individual. Quite frankly, I don't like to start families in the same spot everytime (working up from a starter home, everyone st the bottom of the career and skill ladder). There is no better way to set up a family backstory than cheats, beyond putting in hours of grind that you don't even consider real play.
