- bshag4lv8 years agoSeasoned AceYup and always have. But lately I've been getting into a rut, the same ole, same ole type thing. I will be switching to more provacative traits...I love skilling and most of my sims are lvl 10 in handiness, hate repairmen. I am going to start using the lot trait Gremlins more.
- I don't normally because a lot of the time I'm playing challenges so the ones that give skill advantages feel cheaty even if they're usually allowed. The rest of the time I forget about them. I probably use them on community lots more then residential ones.
However I am currently playing the 100 Baby Challenge and I put my baby mama in a trailer so I decided to give it some negative lot traits because it felt right and gives me something to have the family work towards getting rid of over time and I have to say I am really LOVING it. Seriously it gives the whole thing a bit of unpredictable chaos which is really adding to a lot of fun. Not sure I'd ever go the route of having all negative traits again anytime soon in the future but I might start throwing stuff in every once in a while.
Among other things I have discovered while doing this is that Toddlers are effected by the Cursed lot trait!
@bshag4lv just be aware with the Gremlins trait that sometimes it can happen on the nightly. I tend to only make my sims with that lot trait repair everything every other time it happens (and just replace it and refund them the money the other times) or it would have to be repaired constantly which is good for raising the handiness skill but detrimental to getting anything else done during the day lol. To avoid it having it happen altogether have a sim stay up past 12 am the Gremlins won't show up if there's someone awake that could witness them. (They obviously don't physically appear at all either way but that's the way I think of it) And keep an eye on your sims moodlets sometimes it's not obvious that they've been shocked especially if they have other traits over-riding the dazed trait but if they get shocked again while having the dazed moodlet they can die. - GalacticGal8 years agoLegendI think they're fun. But, I'm a tad disappointed in two of those traits: Earthquake and Haunted. I grew up in Earthquake territory (California) and this trait doesn't even come close. I had hoped the camera would shudder a bit to help simulate the movement. And all we get are ghosts from the area. I had hoped that EA would return the ghosts (at least for this trait) to the way they were in Sims2. Mean and aggressive out to scare to death any living Sim.
- sikoah8 years agoSeasoned VeteranOn every single lot.
- filipomel8 years agoSeasoned AceI would use them a lot more, but it seems that a lot of the traits that came with City Living are broken, the Party Place, Grungy, and Gremlins I don’t ever see working, even though I want them to for story telling.
- Hermitgirl8 years agoSeasoned AceI almost always use the helpful skill boosting ones. Sometimes if I want to up the chances of my sims having a hard time though I'll put the bad ones up for a limited time.
- Nope - makes the game less of a challenge for me. The only one that I will sometimes use is the teen neighborhood to lure more teenage townies into the area.
- It depends on how I want to play. Sometimes I don't because it's a lot more challenging without them.
If I have kids I will use the child's play one and the good school because I hate how long it takes to train the toddlers, it seems that's all I do when they're toddlers. - ariannaneal8 years agoSeasoned Ace

Usually not because I can't be bothered to. But sometimes if I feel like it... I just don't like the annoying particles that the skill building lot traits have (they ruin my screenshots)
I must be extremely ditzy, because I'm not positive about what you're talking about
Is it like glittery, swirly, specks right over your sim's head?
I've seen that, but never known what it was - ariannaneal8 years agoSeasoned AceI don't think they work very well. Or at least the ones I've used. I've never had extra teens show up, or extra cats or dogs either.
I am usually careful to remember to put them on public lots, but I often forget to put them on houses
