I love it when my sim's offspring are able to just move into a house of their own and begin life without my interference. I like seeing who ends up marrying who, what kinds of children they may have together - just makes it easier for me (laziness) instead of having to make everyone gain relationships myself. It's the spontaneity that draws me in!
Plus, like others may have mentioned, it's great having the ability to populate worlds with sims straight from the tray. No more awkward townies. And again, I'm a lazy simmer who loves it when I find ways around things. (Not to say I'm lazy all the time, sometimes it just becomes tiring having to do the mundane tasks like swap randomly generated sims with gallery sims).
