- RouenSims5 years agoSeasoned AceMy Sims have been complaining and cancelling actions a lot, or just standing in place doing nothing, ever since the patches and pack.
- Karababy525 years agoLegendYes! Gah! Mine moan, groan, slump over, roll their eyes, etc. I don't like it at all. And the worst part? It's not a glitch/bug, it's by design. It says in the June 3rd patch notes:
BUILD MODE ITEMS GRANT GAMEPLAY EFFECTS
How you build your lot can now affect your gameplay. Certain objects such as wall patterns, floor patterns, fences, and columns bring different gameplay modifiers. Some of these modifiers affect how your Bills and utilities are calculated by decreasing or increasing your Power or Water utility production or usage, as well increasing or decreasing the price of bills. Environment Score can now be impacted by certain objects and materials. Drywall walls without wall patterns applied now decrease environment score like they did in The Sims 3! The choice of floor and wall materials used can also affect the ability to spread fire or puddles at an increased or lessened rate. And if you’d rather build your lot without having to think about these things, don’t worry. There’s an Option in the Gameplay menu to turn all of this off.
Our Sims are reacting to the wallpaper, flooring and decorations in their homes. If they have a low environment score or not a lot of decorations, they react with the moans and groans even if they are supposedly in a green happy mood, this overrides it.
Also in those patch notes, it says you can turn this off. Maybe that works for others, but I tried turning it off and it didn't make a bit of difference. The toggle doesn't seem to be working as intended (at least in my game) so I'm guessing that is a bug/glitch. If my suspicions are correct, they implemented this on purpose, I think it needs to be tweaked, and the toggle fixed. - akaniki5 years agoRising Ace

I agree it needs to be fixed. It may have been their intention but it isn't working correctly. This is happening with all of my sims in all of the towns. I doesn't seem to matter how upscale everything is. They have a happy moodlet because of surroundings but still groan, throw their heads back and act like a teenager with mood-swings. I also have those eco features turned off. - Babykittyjade5 years agoSeasoned AceI actually like this. I noticed it but like it. Tired of all the happiness and grining. I prefer to see them moaning and groaning but that's just me. Of course they shouldn't do it if you have them in a really nice environment though
- I turned off the environmental effects, and my sims still moan and groan constantly.
- Yeah I agree it’s by design, albeit a bit bugged. My sim just groans right before they get that inspired look and a nicely decorated buff. I don’t like how this looks but it looks great. Yeah.

Hey folks, considering the age of this thread it might be a good call to start a new discussion around this. I'm going to close this one off for now.
