thank you for starting this thread - it is going to be full of inspiration for future saves.
my play is very dependent upon which save I am playing which is very dependent upon how I am feeling and the levels of pain I’m dealing with.
save 1 is usually an unusual challenge save so often needs travel to complete the challenge (eg new world for each new generation; Disney princess; apocalypse challenge; decades challenge…)
save 2 is often a rags to riches / aspiration achievement save so very focussed on individual sim’s lives (usually involving travel for holidays, outings…)
save 3 is usually a legacy or generational save - the current one is about to be “parked” so I can start the memorial for my parents grandparents. Once I start the great-grandparents (using lots of cc) there will be very little travel as they will be founding families for an area; grandparent generation will include some travel; parent generation will involve a lot of family holidays and exploration day trips.
save 4 is usually a skill-based challenge save so there is usually only limited travel within the storyline - currently prepping a new save for the new crystal pack
save 5 is my single mum, multigenerational save with each new generation being either a single mum or dad due to several factors eg the various deaths in sims, divorce, abduction pregnancy…. Travel is usually limited to everyday life with outings to parks where the family will sometimes camp overnight. The family will sometimes have camping holidays and meet the hermit in the deep woods who teaches them about herbalism…
save 6 is my short term save for doing testing or scenarios etc and sometimes these involve travel
i am looking forward to reading other simmers responses.

It is a great reading about each of your saves and the types of sims and challenges that are in each one @OzSimsFamily 🙂
You would enjoy playing the different saves, with each having diffent types of sims, familiies, ways of playing and features.
I send hugs to you as you cope with your pain ❤️

I have a save based in each world with the idea that the household I'm playing should make the most of that world. But they do go and visit other worlds to take advantage of the things there. I have vacation rentals and restaurants in a lot of worlds, so they'll go and visit those sometimes. Though I can often forget to take them outside their homes at all, as there's always so much to do with skilling up or taking care of kids and pets 😀
- simsplayer8182 years agoHero@OzSimsFamily Great ideas. I do some of these too in my one main save and I run a backup. Different families have some of these themes and in particular I love the ones that involve travel.
Sometimes I start a family out with a bad divorce and then split them out into different lots. I created a daughter and foal for Sienna and Flapjack in Chestnut Ridge, divorced her the same day and then started her life rebuild as an equestrian champion with Flapjack's champion son and I've got a few Sims like that. I've got a few second families too with surprise secret offspring arriving on the doorstep!
I'm so fond of the Hermit! I'd love to be able to redecorate his little cottage for him it has so much potential.- simgirl10102 years agoHero
@simsplayer818 that weird camera jumping is exactly why I don't have any sims living in apartments in San Myshuno. All of my apartments are empty.
Another thing I take into consideration when sending my sims out and about is how close the venue is to home. In my mind some worlds require too much travel time and are reserved for weekend visits only. I may have to make some adjustments now that my family is living in Chestnut Ridge. When they were in Willow Creek the kids could visit the library after school or the park because they were also in Willow Creek. But they would have to wat until the weekend to visit a friend who lived in Oasis Springs.
- Ellupelluellu2 years agoHero@simgirl1010 mine is somewhat similar setup. Why certain worlds are totally for vacation only. Sulani is full of fun beach themed communitylots, seaside restaurant, spa, even a night club. And few vacation rentals only 🙂

Absolutely. Although my Sims do spend a lot of time at home (those books aren't going to write themselves), I send them all over the place when it's time to socialize or work out or the like, not to mention when I'm working on that snooper aspiration. That takes a lot of traveling about. 😉
