If several co-workers are present at the Scientist and Detective careers surely this is a glitch that can be rectified. Also the co-workers need to do some work and help out. Not once has a co-worker at the doctor career helped heal someone.
It's working as it should. They didn't make co workers do stuff as they said, because they didn't want to cramp/interfere with you from having to do it. The doctor leaving the hospital is no big deal. You can still gain a level if you skip that process. You Do Not Have To Fill Every Thing on the Check List to get to the top of that career. :)
