- ehaught586 years agoSeasoned AceI think FPS stands for frames per second? I haven’t seen it in my game. I’ll check the next time I am in game.
- It's the games built in FPS counter but that usually has to be turned on with a cheat console command to be visible did you turn it on by accident?
You can try to turn it off by CTL+SHIFT+C to open the cheat window and type fps off then hit enter and then CTL+SHIFT+C again to close the window. - GalacticGal6 years agoLegend

Hey, thanks. I was changing a setting in MCCC, but it's possible I hit something wrong. :open_mouth:
ETA: Hm. Opened up the cheat window and entered fps off. Nothing happened. Opened cheat window again typed in testingcheats true, then FPS off. The command appeared, but the box is still there. Perhaps, when I turn the game back on next, it will be gone. It's not really a problem so much as it's an annoyance, and something that was never there before. I thought, perhaps, it's part of the new Origin, or something. - It does sound like an FPS counter, but it's not the one built in to the game which does not have a black box, or the letters FPS, just a number.
It sounds more like an overlay from a third party application, such as a screen recorder, or maybe a setting in your graphic card settings? "sirguylittle;c-17147077" wrote:

Ah I think I remember it now.
@GalacticGal in Origin go to Applications Settings>More>Origin in Game and see if the Display FPS Counter was turned on.- GalacticGal6 years agoLegendThank you @ScottDemon, I'll try that when I get into my game a bit later. I'll also report back here, if it works. :)

I would accept that as a reason, but this is something very new. I had to replace Origin because it got stuck in a loop where it kept repairing my game over and over. It was after it finally finished up that I was able to even get into my game and then, here's this little box. I do have to admit that the page itself in Origin had gone wonky on me, mostly blank and as I scrolled down I finally found my games in the queue. I did click on things trying to see just what they were, so it is entirely possible I clicked on the wrong thing. Thank you. - GalacticGal6 years agoLegendThank you to All who jumped into this thread giving me support and suggestions. As it happens, when my Origin page went wonky and mostly blank on me, in trying to figure out what was wrong, I scrolled down the page. As I went I saw little down arrows and clicked on them trying to understand what they were, and hoping very much it would fix the page. Each time I was given a choice and not recalling what the setting had been, I mindlessly clicked on something. Now that the page is operating the way it should, I was able to follow what @ScottDemon suggested. The little black box is now gone from view in my game. Yay! (Takes so very little to make me happy. ;) )
I am very much hoping my gaming woes will be gone for awhile, since I have had little more than grief since this latest patch and EP were released.
Again, many, MANY thanks to all of you for your kind responses and help.
