Yeah i agree with the sims 3, crashing and all doesn't help, at all. Rotating is somewhat hard to do. last time i played, i graduated lilith and angela from uni, all while marrying them and having a baby. in reality, i've haven't done much yet either, and maybe i need more eps/packs/sps to help move me along.
