Sims has always been modern focused. However, TS2, provides, as EA made resources, a 'Castle in a Kit', medieval clothing and furniture, and assorted furnishings. Telephones are land lines that a player chooses to include or not. Cellphones must be bought at a specialized vending machine. We can make neighborhoods to our liking. In one gamesave I have all of Pleasantview is Victorian. Add CC and you have a game easily put into a period setting. TS4 makes such a proposition much more challenging. TS2 sims have characterization that are much more detailed and complex. Unless you want a fight, do not put a Monty and a Capp onto the same lot. Come to think of it, don't have Cornwall and Kent Capp in close proximity either. The older versions focused on gameplay and sims, not social correctness.
