Does anyone know how to tell if graphic card is going bad

I am wondering if anyone can help me figure out why my graphics card is going bad. I know this isn't the official help thread, I am just experiencing random crashing don't really see any artifacting,...

I had experiences with borked graphic cards, first when you slowly notices an artifact in your display monitor only when there is a graphic displayed, second is when you slowly notices a reduced fps in game, for me it doesnt take long for the graphic in a second case to completely broke itself.
