Does anyone know if winter will kill off the garden plants?

The reason I'm asking is because I have a garden that has almost perfect garden plants, except for those that came with the Jungle Adventure. My sim is currently working on those, to get them to perf...

They’ll probably just go dormant. My plants in the sims die all the time. I always want my sims to have a garden, but then it just ends up being neglected and dead. I will try for this pack though because I’m curious how the gardening career will work.
