Does anyone know if winter will kill off the garden plants?

The reason I'm asking is because I have a garden that has almost perfect garden plants, except for those that came with the Jungle Adventure. My sim is currently working on those, to get them to perf...

That is going to be my main problem in my legacy save. The family is wealthy because of the crops and winter will kill every single plant. :'( Winter will not be the first season on the game. Today I saw the glass roofs and greenhouses, so building one will be my top priority.
