Does anyone really use the scouts feature?

I was excited to see scouts added to the game but it was very underwhelming. I used it one time. I did not receive a book or trophies or anything after completing any of the badges including the final badge. I think the scouts were a disappointing addition to the game. Having said that, I still enjoy seasons very much.
