Does fame decay seem too quick/harsh?

It's a serious question. My first 'tester' sim became famous and never lost a star even though she just did the work gigs and made appearances at the awards. My first proper sim went to the lounge one day and sang herself to her first star, then stayed home the next day to go to an audition, which she passed and then immediately lost the star she'd just earned. How can one sim do the bare minimum and skate through losing no stars (It took ages to get to 5 star celeb but it was doable) yet the other takes less than a day off the fame treadmill to go to a flipping audition but she loses a star?

  • Yes, I feel like it decays way too fast. I get a warning 1-2 times per sim day. I actually select the "staying out of the spotlight" option now because I don't want to deal with the constant upkeep.
  • Oh, I definitely agree, it is pretty fast. And not all that realistic in my eyes. Even a simstagram post a day doesn't keep fame from slipping in my game - or painting, or pretty much anything else. The Fame is Fading spam is rather annoying honestly.
  • Why in the world does it work differently with different sims? Out of around five characters, I've only had one who got the slipping spam. She was my first global. The others, including one other global, were never threatened.
