I'm not necessarily going for the Snow White look, but for the sake of the situation we can go with that. I was switching this Sim over to the new darker black hair color and I have this Sim saved in a number of ages. I start switching one at a time and the adult phases are fine. Teenager is fine. Even the toddler is just like the rest. However, get to the kid phase, and the new black hair color just... Looks off to me. It seems lighter and more gray to me than the previous black hair color while all the others were very obviously darker to me. I am every so slightly distraught since this is my favorite kid hairstyle. I'll post some pictures and for reference the one that is bothering me is the hair style with the blue ribbon. Is it just me or does it really look weird?
I also gave a "me too" to @Jyotai's bug report because that same thing happens with the short wavy curls. My main Sim has short wavy black hair, and I tried out different hairs on her the day of the update. She looked considerably older in some of the hairs and it took me a moment to realize why that was. Some of them have less highlights and therefore look closer to a true black, and some of them have highlights that make them look dark grey. Which means it's happening with long straight hairs, short wavy hairs, and the afro textured hairs.
ETA: OP, you are not seeing things. Or if you are, I am too. This new black color is inconsistent and oddly grey sometimes.
