Basically, the companies won't care - if you already bought the Sims 4, some of its various DLCs, then they already have your money and they got everything they could want from you.
The gaming industry's sources of income come from various things like product placements, ads and finally sales. The companies enjoy the support of hardcore fanboys/fangirls who ALWAYS support them to the hilt no matter what and will buy every DLC (the so-called "Whales") at any price - as well as waves of casuals who go as fast as they come. In either case, the product is sold and the company gets revenue.
You being done with it means about as much to the devs as you buying a Honda Civic and 5 years later, "being done with cars".
If you're the type of person who has standards for quality in your games and you pay attention to the price of expansion packs and get deterred by exorbitant costs for shovelware DLCs - then they don't care about losing YOUR shopping dollar, especially if you already bought the game.
If you're not the kind of customer who will pay them the cost of a fully released AAA game just for a "game pack" containing 4 cosmetic items, then you're not the "Whale" they want and they don't care.
@Erasorheaav Well yeah but sharing their opinion on the product and having several people agree is a step in the right direction. If tons of people decide not to buy the next DLC then EA might notice.
It's like with the environment, every single person can make a change.
