I totally agree with the above posts.
Back when the vampire pack came out, I was really undecided about whether to get it. Vampires were not something I wanted at the time, but I adored the build buy stuff and really wanted it. I heard about the garlic solution and decided to risk it, but I knew full well it was down to me if vampires appeared in my game after buying a vampire pack.
Happily, I enjoyed the whole pack (yes, even the vampires) but if I had decided they were too invasive then that would have been my own tough luck and up to me to find a way around it or disable the pack.
It is grossly unfair of the devs to nerf a feature that people have paid for. To me, that would be like ordering a cheese burger in McDonald's and being given the burger with no cheese because people had complained it was too cheesy.
