Door locked or otherwise unusable for Visitors in Gallery house?

Update: Replacing the doors didn’t work. Possibly the issue is not so much the doors as a Welcome Wagon glitch/malfunction. Three of the neighbours are now carrying fruticake (which I’d love for them to serve but can’t seem to get them to drop, not even on the handy picnic table set).

The four of them literally stood on the porch all night while my Sims slept and haven’t left yet.
