Dryer Causing Fires

I've had several home fires, sometimes daily, from using the dryer. Is this normal? I mean in real life people don't usually set their house and themselves on fire from the dryer. Why are all my households...and butlers...turning into tinderboxes from drying clothes?

Ah...so they won't autonomously clean the lint tray then. My sims do the laundry on their own and I never direct them. Looks like I'll be removing the laundry stuff since I don't like to micromanage, especially with household chores I don't even like to do in real life. lol

Well, as I mentioned, if you upgrade it to "lintless" it stops catching on fire.

I like this feature because it adds the possibility of random death since sims will do laundry autonomously.

Yes, this. There’s precious little unpredictability in this game. You create a sim or have one born in game and you are basically 100% guaranteed they will live to a ripe old age having lived a very cushy adversity free life. ?
  • The problem for me is that I modded my game to be harder so random death happens a lot. So far the dryer has been a guaranteed death. I've lost a lot of sims over the past few days playing with laundry. Haha
